Sponge coming out from a/c outlets inside the car?

Sponge pieces coming out from ac outlets inside the car whenever i switch the a/c. What does this mean? Do i need to change the air filter? How much does it cost for this?Sponge coming out from a/c outlets inside the car?Air conditioner body under dash is made of parts, some with foam insulation between them to stop rattle .. looks like that foam is disintegrating with age. Could also be same foam doing same job around the outlet vents themselves .. that would be easier to fix ..but both would require air conditioner repair people to look at it.Sponge coming out from a/c outlets inside the car?its the sponge foam that hold the a/c ducking togetherSponge coming out from a/c outlets inside the car?Its probably something very minor, i agree with the other answer. Something in the a/c thats made of foam that is getting blown out of your vents by your blower fan. If it continues for the next couple of days, i would bring it in somewhere to have someone remove what ever is getting ripped up.Sponge coming out from a/c outlets inside the car?The cabin air filter could be deteriorated and falling apart.. These filters are usually around $20-$30 from any local parts store such as Auto Zone or NAPA. It also could be the foam insulation that automakers use to seal your A/C duct work and panels. Try changing the filter first..Sponge coming out from a/c outlets inside the car?thats the packing surrounding the ac ducts to keep them from rattling. in a period of time the sponglike material will rot and pieces will come off and blow out the vents.
