How often is it recommended to change out a cabin air filter?

Considering on how cheap they are and how high energy costs are- I would change 4 times a year if the cabin was used on a weekly basis. How often is it recommended to change out a cabin air filter?Do you mean your cars engine air intake filter? If so it is recommended to change them anywhere from every 7000 to 25000 miles depending on your location and how much driving you do. If you have your cars owners manual it will explain when you should change the filter for your particular make and model. I change mine every 15000 or 5th oil change. When in doubt it never hurts to change it after all a car needs to breathe just as bad as we do!How often is it recommended to change out a cabin air filter?Depends on how dusty the area is where you are. I change mine once a year and I live in New England near the city.

If there is no filter, you still have the option to install one. Install all removed parts and your done. I may want to mention that there may be a small elastic cord on the right side of the glovebox,be carful not to break it. Hope this helps.

How often do you need to change a HEPA type filter in an air filtering device, for allergies?

So my boyfriend and I decided we should get the Ionic Pro, which is similar to the Ionic Breeze. Which seem to make sense because we didn't need to buy any filters for it ever. But as soon as we turned it on, my bf started to get dizzy, and chest pains. We researched it and found out that the Ionic type air cleaners emit OZONE, which can irritate your lung passage, and asthma. So we returned it the next day. We are thinking about getting a HEPA type air cleaner, but we don't know which is the best deal... plus the cost for filters - our room seems to collect dust even the moment after we clean it. And we suffer from the dust allergies, even after we clean it..: / How often do you change the filter in your HEPA type air cleaner? How often do you need to change a HEPA type filter in an air filtering device, for allergies?every 6 months

How do you change the cabin air filter in a 2002 VW Beetle Sport.?

I know it can be done I have a new filter for it I bought at the store. but I am not exactly sure where it is located inside my car and I do not want to tear the whole dash apart to find it. I know it needs it bad, a smoker owned the car before me and I live on a dirt road. Thank you very much. How do you change the cabin air filter in a 2002 VW Beetle Sport.?first remove the centre panel on top of the dash by pushing it forward .

next remove the left panel that's held in place by 3 torx screws, once you have done that there is another panel held together by what seems to be 3 trillion screws, you will probably fall asleep getting them out, when all the screws are out you will need to be careful to remove the panel it can get tricky.and finally you have reached your destination, there you will find the pollen filter which by now you will be convinced its laughing at you. hope this helps

How do you change the cabin air filter in a 2002 VW Beetle Sport.?In the center of the dash, above the radio, there is a piece that slides forwards. Once you push that towards the windshield, it will come out. Under that piece you will see three T25 torx screws with these crazy spring washers. Take those out and you will be able to lift the right side of the dash out, sometimes having to unplug a speaker. Under the right side piece that you just removed there is a final piece that is held down with 5 or 6 more T25 torx screws. Pull that piece out and you will be looking at the fresh air filter.

  • Honda civic lx 07, how do i change the engine air filter?

so i went to the honda dealership for an oil change and the dude said i need to change the engine air filter or something of the like, well he wanted an arm and leg can i do this my self?Honda civic lx 07, how do i change the engine air filter?Yes the air filter is located in the plastic box on top of the engine or next to it. It's held together with clips or 8mm head bolts. If it has bolts you'll need an 8mm, or 5/16 inch (same thing) nut driver. Open it up, swap the new filter in and close it.

You should also check the cabin air filter. It's located behind the glove box. Open it, theres stops on both sides you press in to release it and let it hang down. Then youll see a horizontal rectangular door, the cabin air filter is in there. Open it up if the filter is full of nasty crap replace it, needless to say.

How do I change the air filter on my 2002 Grand Am GT?

I went to have my oil changed the other day and got suckered into buying a few new parts for the car (or at least the ones that sounded important). The man came back in to show me my air filter and asked if I'd like a new one, to which I said no. I figured I could save some money by going and getting my own, which I did. My new air filter is in the trunk of my car instead of the engine, because I don't know where to put it! I opened up the hood and saw a box which I figure it's in somewhere, but I'm not certain on how to get it open, and I don't want to break anything. HELP!How do I change the air filter on my 2002 Grand Am GT?That's correct. You did save money because they would of charged you labor. Anyways, that box that you think is where the filter goes is probably correct. there's no other black box under the hood, unless it's a battery cover, in which you'd figure that out once you took the cover off, that's if it even had a cover over the battery. But anways, that box will have some sort of snaps on the sides. More than liky 3-4 of them. You're going to have to open those, but just pushing them down. Sometimes it can be closed with screws. but I'm going to put money on it that there's just those hooks that you'll just pop off, and than lift up and you'll see your old filter under it, pull that one out, and replace the new one.How do I change the air filter on my 2002 Grand Am GT?mam i can assure this is the simplest thing to do on ure car, u wont brake anything......first off ure on the right track if u find a large big rubber hose leading into what looks like a black plastic box...of course inside lies the air filter, now u might require a simple tool as a flat head screw driver to unlock the top of this plastic box by the way there should only be 2 to 4screws holding in place....or might be something simple as 4 clip on locks....thats about it, make sure if u accomplish this to put everything back in place the same way.....woalllaaa u did it.....

HELP!!!! Driving without an air filter!!!?

    So, here is the story.

I love my '92 Benz. I'm the guy that's constantly washing and waxing his car, checking the fluids, and knows every small detail. The only thing I hated about the car was it's poor gas mileage. I was getting like 10 mpg. I figured...it's a Benz, so...its normal, right? Anyway, one day, I told my dad, %26quot;it's time for a tune-up I think%26quot;. So I call up our family mechanic (who always does maintenance on our cars and we trust) to change the spark plugs, change the oil, and change the air filter. When he turns the car back to me, he tells me there WAS no air filter and that he just put one in.

This would make a lot of sense and it would explain the poor gas mileage and my cars small inability to accelerate and take off like a racer. I did have my car broken into once, but nothing was stolen or broken (at least I don't think so...would someone break into my car to steal just the air filter??), and this other mechanic MAY have not replaced it just to screw me over, but that's old business and I can't blame him anymore.

The point is...how screwed is my engine?

I asked my family mechanic and he said that although its very bad to drive without one and the engine's cylinders may clog with dust...he said the engine runs perfectly fine and since I haven't driven much (I'm a college student so I drive from school to home like twice monthly and just go out to nearby dining spots with friends every so often, but most of the time my car is parked in a garage at my apt.) the car should be fine.

Now when I drive the car...I can go very fast and not hear the engine. It's really quiet. Also, the mpg meter never goes under 15mpg (it used to go down to 0 when i would accelerate to 80 mph). It's the smoothest ride ever. So, how much damage should I expect to the engine? Is there anything I can do to remedy the situation that isn't costly or too difficult? Will the dust somehow magically filter out over time now that I have an air filter installed? please help!HELP!!!! Driving without an air filter!!!?Your family mechanic is right on. If you ran it for a long time that way you might have a problem, but just a short time probably little or no damage. If you are still nervous, get an extra oil and filter change, and that will remove any of the dust that is in suspension in the oil (That is what a detergent oil does, it keeps all the tiny particles of dirt and dust in suspension. That's also why it turns dark right after you change it. It's doing it's job!)

It's also nice to know that you have an honest family mechanic. He could have reccomended a lot of different things for you to do (and pay for) but he obviously doesn't screw people. So you actually won 2 good things out of this. Your car will be happier, and you know you have a mechanic you can trust. Both good things!HELP!!!! Driving without an air filter!!!?I agree whole heatedly with the above answer, it is a good answer.HELP!!!! Driving without an air filter!!!?your mechanic is right about not having an air filter, any damage to the engine is already done and there is nothing you can do now to correct it, more than likely if it's running fine you will be OK down the road, if you notice it starting to use oil that is one of the effects of not running a air cleaner.

What amazes me is your fuel consumption improved.

There was a time in the 50's it was thought cool to remove the filter element thinking it would provide more air and hence engine power. However in these days of computer sensing of all engine parameters it must have messed up something like the vacuum reading which is a major input to the fuel control unit.

Based on your results I would say keeping the air filter in good form is essential. How do I change the air filer in a Citroen Saxo diesel?

I have a citroen saxo diesel and want to change the air filter as I never got round to it last year when the oil was done. Normally I'm pretty good at this sort of stuff but on this occasion I can;t for the life of me find where the air filter box is. Would be grateful if someone could tell me where it is and how to open it up to swap the filter over.

ThanksHow do I change the air filer in a Citroen Saxo diesel?Follow the inlet air piping from the cylinder head (on the engine block) back away from the engine. 4 individual pipes will converge into a manifold. Keep going and the manifold will lead to the air filter. Usually 6*12 inches (ish!) with the 2 halves held together with either screws or clips for easy removal. Do you have the new filter to hand? See if there are any plastic parts that would contain something of those dimensions.

How often should the car air filter be replaced?

I have an honest mechanic who told me today that I don't have to follow my car's factory maintenance schedule to change the air filter. I use this car only for commute for 20 miles round trip daily on weekdays. Wondering how often should I replace the air filter in your opinion. Thanks. How often should the car air filter be replaced?whenever it gets dirty, think of it just like any air filter. you pull it out and if its white and clean, with not too much debris stuck in it, then its still clean, but once your white filter becomes black, and you have large stuff stuck in it like pieces of leaves and dirt and bugs, then its time to clean it. what i recommend is a K%26amp;N filter, its a replacement which instead of being made of paper, its cotton with oil, so when it gets dirty and clogged you just clean it instead of replacing it, it pays for itself in a year. im not endorsing the product or anything just letting you know about something you should look into. How often should the car air filter be replaced?Well it really depends on where you drive. If it's dusty or your driving through a construction area It might be quite often.

I once had a friend pull up in his daughters Saturn. He was quite angry as the car was barely running had poor power and gas mileage. I told him it was his air filter(he didn't believe me). I removed it to show him and he said %26quot;it doesn't look that dirty%26quot; I then cut it in half to show that it was indeed clogged with dirt in the center of the filter media. Some late model cars (like the Saturn) have very restrictive airflow. After replacing the filter he pulled out of the parking lot and chirped the tires!

I would recommend a K%26amp;N replacement drop in filter or if you want a K%26amp;N cold air intake system.

For about $40.00 (most cars) you will get a much better filter that can be cleaned instead of replaced(my K%26amp;N is 6 years old and still works great) a cleaning kit is $20.00 and lasts a for a long long time. Simple.Should i pay $23 for an air filter?yea usally when you buy stuff online u end up paying even more trust meShould i pay $23 for an air filter?Go to another store $20 should be the max for one. How do you change push mower air filter?

is there any instructions or PDF's on the net on how to change a puch mower air filter. How do you change push mower air filter?Typically older push mowers used a 'steel housing' for their air cleaner assemblies - mounted with a simple slotted screw to the carb housing - on the right side of the mower ( looking from behind) . Unscrew the slotted screw and the cover comes off exposing the air filter element- usually a foam type - Remove and install replacement ( you can either take old one in or that and motor numbers - stamped into flywheel shroud on top of the motor) .

New ones use part of the plastic shroud or a plastic cover to hold the filter in - a paper type. Typically its held on by a single machine screw , the cover comes off and the filter cartridge is right there - looks like a small automotive filter. Replacement is similar, motor numbers usually on a data plate somewhere on the engine/mower - take old one in.

It should fit into a spot on the housing and reclose the door- tighten bolt. How do you change push mower air filter?Should be easy to figure out. A lot of them just use a little plastic clip to remove the cover and then you pull the foam, filter out and wash it, let it dry and reinstall it.

You can also go to the manufacturers web site and look up the directions there, they may have an exploded parts diagram that will show you how it is done. How do you change push mower air filter? All engines are different. It's usually very easy. Most engines the filter is on the outside of the engine, very accessible and in a silver case. Their most likely is one screw that you remove to take the cover off and the filter is inside.

    Easy.

If it's more difficult then that try searching by the mower you have or if you know the engine manufacture and horse power search under that.

How often do you change the air filter on a 6.0 powerstroke?

how many miles to be due for a changing? How often do you change the air filter on a 6.0 powerstroke? For a removable air filter, there is an old rule of thumb. Hold the filter up to the sun light and see if you can see light through it if you can then air can pass thought it as well. The dimmer the light, the more restricted the filter is. Hold a new one up and you will see the difference. Most people change their filters long before they need to be changed. Hope this helps. There is no set rule for changing, only recommendations as conditions vary according to where you are and your climate where you live. How often do you change the air filter on a 6.0 powerstroke?every 5000 miles.. or 5 to six months

How do i change air-con filter at home?

wanted to see a videoHow do i change air-con filter at home?I don't know where a video would be, but if this is central air try this. On the unit inside the house there should be 2 panels on the front of it. They will usually be lift and pull out to remove them. The bottom one is where the filter usually is, but you normally need the top one out to get the bottom out. You should see the filter when you remove the bottom panel. They are usually a size like 16X25X1. The filter should show it's size on the side. Go to your hardware store, or a Lowes or home depot. You can get a replacement filter there. They have the ones that are like a blue fiberglass filter, I don't recommend those. I usually get the 3M Brand filters. They have a filter efficiency number on the filter. The higher the number, the better the filter. I use 1250 or 1700. You should just be able to slide the old one out, and the new one in. Replace the bottom panel and then the top panel, and make sure the system turns on. There is a switch you will see that one of the panels, usually the bottom, presses against. If the system doesn't turn on check to make sure both panels are on all the way.

How do you know its time to rplace and change your air conditioner filter?

Its been really hot in our house and the air is on but we cant feel it blowing at all i was thinking if we should call someone to fix i but i took a look at the filter and its filthy ,could that be the problemHow do you know its time to rplace and change your air conditioner filter?idk ? i just needed the 2 points lol. :DHow do you know its time to rplace and change your air conditioner filter? Most definitely. Before every season you should remove your air conditioner filter and give it a good cleaning. If you have a window unit or one with a permanent removable filter, take it out, clean all of the dust and dirt off of it, and then get into it with a scrub brush or pressure washer and get the crud out of the small mesh that's in the filter. Basically your air conditioner is choking, which can result in less cooling, higher energy bills and a shorter life of your air conditioner.

I was a smoker and I'd remove and clean my air conditioner filter every month and it provided me with reliable and cool service.

Another option is to check the external venting as well to make sure they're not blocked or choked with crud too.How do you know its time to rplace and change your air conditioner filter?Wouldn't hurt to try that first. It would be the cheapest solutionHow do you know its time to rplace and change your air conditioner filter?Duh...

1990 Lancer 1.5 GLX manual (Europe) - air filter change (and more)?

I want to change the air filter on the car, can anyone point me to a web site with some instructions on which filter to get and how to replace (or rather just answer the question if you know the answer and are willing to type a lot because I am a relatively new driver and might not understand some things yet).

In addition to that, what things could I do to bring the car back to it's abilities when it was manufactured and what improvements are possible.

If I were to change the engine, where do I look for it and what do I do? Do i get my hands greasy with a couple of pals in a garage we don't have (but lets put that aside) or do I go to my usual local car mitsubishi car mechanic with an engine I bought...somewhere (mind you, I live in Croatia) and ask him to change the engine.

If you've already read this far, well, thank you.

One more thing for current or former owners - what have you found fails with this car over time and should be changed - it's got about 100 000 miles? Thanks1990 Lancer 1.5 GLX manual (Europe) - air filter change (and more)?Lancers existed in the 90's??? lol! Do you mean the Evolutions?

How often should I need to change my furnace/central air filter?

My furnace and central air share the same ducts. How often should I change the filter? (I use the 3M Filtrete brand).

The home inspector said once every 3 months, the guy who installed the central air said once a month. How often should I need to change my furnace/central air filter? The installer was correct. You need to replace the filter every month.

Air conditioning systems are very low pressure systems. That is, the air flow through the various ductwork has a very low driving force. For comparison, when you talk about pressure in a balloon, you are measuring in pounds per square inch.

In a household airconditioning system, you are talking about ounce of water pressure per square inch. This is a very small pressure drop, so dust accumlation on your filter will quickly reduce the flowrate. Two things can happen when the air filter is plugged....

The airflow across the cooling coils will become very low and the air will get very cold, causing water to drop out into the drain system. This can cause your drain system to become overwhelmed and you will get leakage out of the attic AC unit and onto your cieling.

The other thing is, it can overload your AC system and cause premature failure.

Buy the cheap whispy air filters 3 per pack and replace them every month. I use my yahoo calender to send me an email reminder automatically every month. How often should I need to change my furnace/central air filter?I tell my renters to change it monthly, if they use the heat and AC a lot, smoke or have pets. That being said, I don't use my HVAC unit at home much at all and even though I have pets, I check it monthly to see whether it has accumulated much, but most of the time, I wind up replacing it about every other month. How often should I need to change my furnace/central air filter?at every change of season. How often should I need to change my furnace/central air filter?once every 3 monthsHow often should I need to change my furnace/central air filter?depends on how fast they get dirty. check them and see if they are dark and dingy, if so replace them, check them every month to see how fast they get dirty, if they don't look bad then check them again the next month, then you can decide for yourself on how much you need to change them per year. How often should I need to change my furnace/central air filter?Once a month unless it gets dirty sooner than that, but at least once a month. Especially if you have pets or you smoke in the house. How often should I need to change my furnace/central air filter? The last guy ALMOST had it right. The interval could be as short as 1 month or as long as 3 months. The only thing i disagree with him on is the 3 pack of whispy filters. They can potential come apart and the fibers can clog deep within the evaporator. I would use the 3m you have, make sure they are the paper pleated ones and plan on changing them on the first of the month. Keeping up with this will insure a long life for your cooling system.

After each ride if you ride in dusty conditions. Every couple of weeks on normal conditions. Change the air filter once a year.

You don't need to change jets as any part of routine maintenance. You only change the jets if you make engine modifications like aftermarket exhaust or internal engine modifications. How often should i change the air filter, oil, and jets on a wr450f?Adam, if you buy one, invest in a manual. So many people ask technical questions about their bikes that can be found in a manual.

Oil wise, I wouldn't do it after every. I would say every 500kms if you have ridden it hard and your oil has darkened.

I'm assuming you have no experience from the question. A 450 is a whole lot of bike for a beginner. I would shop in the 200-250cc range. Make sure you can reach the ground while sitting in the saddle.

Changing air filter with aftermarket filter damage engine and how? if it doesnt dn how can u replace it?

i have a toyota echo 2003, i saw my airfilter bow and it has plugs, and sensors, if i change to a K%26amp;N filter where do i plug da original plug sensors?Changing air filter with aftermarket filter damage engine and how? if it doesnt dn how can u replace it?K%26amp;N air filters need to be cleaned and re-oiled on a routine basis. If you incorrectly apply the oil to the filter and don't follow all the directions just right, you risk contaminating the MAF sensor with filter oil. Sometime you can clean the MAF, sometimes it's destroyed by the oil. Those MAF sensors are expensive.

I ask you is it really worth the trouble to fiddle with this? Just stick with a paper element and drive your car.Changing air filter with aftermarket filter damage engine and how? if it doesnt dn how can u replace it?If you live in a place with little dust you can probably get away with a K%26amp;N filter. They have less restriction because they don't filter as well as proper filters do.

Here in dusty Arizona K%26amp;N filters earn sneers from most enthusiasts. A friend put a replacement conventional filter in his Volvo and the valves started leaking within a year - the filter had a tear in it and the sand chewed his valves up. The filter manufacturer paid for the repair.

I never saw the attraction of K%26amp;N filters. The reduction in restriction is insignificant in normal use, and the power difference is only measurable at full power.Changing air filter with aftermarket filter damage engine and how? if it doesnt dn how can u replace it?The K%26amp;N air filter needed for your car is a 33-2211. It is a drop-in filter meaning you just put it in where the old one was. The plug sensors you mention is most likely the mass air flow sensor. It is not directly connected to the filter but to the air box or arm leading to the airbox. A K%26amp;N filter will not damage your car. In fact, even a dirty K%26amp;N filter performs better than most new plain filters.

By the way, you would use the K%26amp;N oil filter HP-1003.Changing air filter with aftermarket filter damage engine and how? if it doesnt dn how can u replace it?some need jumped, ask K%26amp;N they sell em' they know what you need to hook you up

How long would it take to change the air filter on a BMW?

It says on the box 1 hour? It is that hard, I looked in the Haynes manual and they five it a difficulty of 1 out of 5. So its meant to be real easy. Just asking before I **** it up.How long would it take to change the air filter on a BMW?You should be able to change all the service items in under an hour, plugs, fuel filter, oil filer, air filter and oil change! If its just the air filter 15mins max should do it. Just take your time and follow the manual, sure you'll be fine with it mate, next time you need to change one it'll take you about 3 minutes!

Fitting an aftermarket filter wouldnt be in the haynes manual, it only tells you how to replace the existing one. Still shouldnt take an hour though.

You might need to get the car set up again when you replace the standard filter with an induction kit.

How often is building maintenance supposed to change air filters in a large building?

I'm talking about office buildings at least 10 stories tall or taller. How often is building maintenance supposed to change air filters in a large building?Depends on the building use and the operating Theater.

For instance, a building in Texas would require a shorter preventive maintenance interval than a equally sized and used building in New England.

The building comes with all the paperwork for recommended preventative maintenance. You could ask to see the recommendations and the maintenance records if you are the renter.
