How to change air filter in a 2003 mercedes c320?

The top cover has to be pulled off. Just remove the hoses attatched to it and pull up, it will snap loose from the holders that secure it. Flip the cover over and unsrew the two covers ( 8 torx screws if I recall correctly ) on the underside.
